Year: I Where do you purchase your clothes? For classy clothing, I purchase my clothes at Zara, Hugo Boss, and Le Chateau. For more casual wearing, I purchase my clothes at H&M, Giordano, Hollister, and shoes from Aldo. I also purchase my clothes at Nike and Adidas for sports. Due to limited budget, I normally buy my clothing at an outlet with stores previously mentioned as oppose to malls. Several of my clothes are also originals (and whatnot…) from local boutiques in my hometown, Bangkok, Thailand. What are inspirations for your looks? When I was in high school, everyone had to wear a uniform. If any of us wore our clothes in a way that deviated from the school dress code, we would be punished. With an intense hatred towards this dress code, I was punished several times in an attempt to be different from the norms. This taught me that some people do judge the book by its cover; it also taught me that the way we look represents our character. Hence, now that I don't need to follow these confining rules, this experience inspired my looks to be similar yet different from the crowd. After all, you can buy uniform and fashion, but you can't buy style. |

Year: II Where do you purchase your clothes? I generally shop at larger department stores, where I have a greater variety to choose from and can always get good deals. Brands I look out for include Van Heusen, Dockers, Columbia, Point Zero, and Ralph Lauren. I also like to shop at Tommy Hilfiger, Moores, and Harry Rosen. What are inspirations for your looks? Owing to the fact that I work in formal settings and also don’t shop very often, I usually have more sophisticated and classic looks. Inspiration from current trends allows me to add a bit of versatility to the traditional mould. I mix, match, and layer quite a lot, and the often ‘random combinations’ I end up with give some personality, and an air of unexpectedness, to my style. |

Year: II Where do you purchase your clothes? A lot of my clothes come from small boutiques in the Far East (some of their names don’t even make sense when I translate it into English so I’m not even going to bother). In Canada, I like to shop at H&M and Forever XXI, despite the undersized men’s section. There’s a lot of fashion at these stores for not a lot of money. Sometimes, I also frequent Zara and Mexx. What are inspirations for your looks? A lot of my look is inspired by various Asian pop idols. Not surprisingly, a lot of my wardrobe comes from overseas as well. Layers and well-fitted pants are common for many of my outfits. I have a habit of wearing vests over just about anything to add layers. V-necks under blazers paired with skinny black jeans or fitted dark khakis provide a good mix between casual and formal, comfort and style. I also own many dress shirts, but even when I wear them casually, they’re almost always tucked in (it better defines your figure) and probably covered by a vest. |

Year: IV Where do you purchase your clothes? A few of my favourite stores include: Mendocino, French Connection, BCBG, and Urban Outfitters. Not only do I love the style and quality of the clothes that they carry, but I also know that I can find pieces there that suit my body-type and are a good fit! Since these stores are on the pricey side, I often wait for the items that I want to go on scale, or search for similar style alternatives at Winners, Zara, and H&M. As for shoes and accessories, The Bay, Town Shoes, and Nine West are my go-to stores. What are inspirations for your looks? To be quite honest, I have no idea! I think that I am inspired unconsciously by everyday fashion that you see on the streets of Toronto or even right here on campus. I love seeing how others pair different styles together (e.g., feminine blouse with boyfriend jeans), mix textures and patterns, and accessorize. Also my looks tend to be a reflection of my mood and vary from day-to-day. One day you may find me in boots, jeans, and a leather jacket, and the next day I may be wearing a lace dress with heels. The Sartorialist is also one of my favourite fashion blogs! Although I never try to emulate the looks from the blog (much too extreme and “out there”- not something that I would feel comfortable in), each one is like a piece of art- incredibly unique and beautiful. |

Year: III Where do you purchase your clothes? Club Monaco, Free People(My absolute favourite, too bad they don't exist in Canada), J.Crew, Mendocino, Wilfred Free, Talula, Urban Outfitters, Banana Republic, little boutiques on Queen Street W. and wherever I can find unique pieces of clothing for a reasonable price. What are inspirations for your looks? This outfit was inspired by a women I saw walking downtown Toronto, her style was elegant, progressive and bold - not to mention well heeled. From incredibly well-dressed women off the runways to the outfits students put together around campus, fashion is everywhere. If you're like me, no matter how many great pieces you have in your closet, you often run out of fresh ideas. Just be creative, have fun with what you wear. Be brave and bust out the leather, layer on the gold necklaces and wear your Louboutins with rolled up jeans. It's only fashion. |

Year: I Where do you purchase your clothes? My absolute favorite store has to be Express and Costa Blanca. In addition to those two for clothes, i'd say H&M, Guess, Danier(leather Jackets only), dynamite and bebe. For shoes its almost always Aldo although some of my absolute favorites are from spring coincidentally. What are inspirations for your looks? Its almost always changing. I usually dress according to my mood which is primarily determined by season. For example during fall i tend to focus on the browns, beige, tea pink etc. Basically any other pastel color you can find. Winter includes simliar colors. During Spring i prefer bold colors like green, orange, bright pink etc. Though i tend to stay away from most neons. Summer is pretty much the same and well then it starts all over again. Though red is pretty much consistent all year round. That and anything lacey ;) Because i am constantly on celeberity watch (just because of my love for clothes) if i were to point a couple of 'inspirations' it would have to be Blake Lively and Carrie Underwood. |

Year: III Where do you purchase your clothes? H & M, Zara, Joe Fresh (you'd be surprised to find the cutest things for such a good price!), Urban Outfitters, boutique shops along Queen St., vintage stores and thirft shops. Oh, and a lot of online shopping! What are inspirations for your looks? Well, I'm currently really inspired by the minimalistic and simple street style in Europe. During my stay in Germany, I was in awe of how well put-together and chic everyone looked! They really stay true to the classics, like a good pair of trousers, monochromatic blouses, and leather oxfords, so I try to incorporate these pieces into my everyday style. I also love the 1970s - everything from that decade, from fashion to music, just has a carefree nature and ease to it. I definitely try to incorporate this effortless style into my everyday wardrobe. That's probably why I own way too many flower hairclips and headbands! |

Year: II Where do you purchase your clothes? I pretty much purchase my clothes from all over, however my favourite stores at the moment are H&M, urban outfitters, and top shop. I try to not limit myself to certain stores, but rather take advantage of shopping at a variety of different stores, including little boutiques in order to find unique pieces that I can mix with things I already own. Most of my favourite pieces have actually come from little boutiques in Los Angeles! What are inspirations for your looks? I think the inspiration for my looks come from a little bit of everything. I find that I am constantly online shopping, observing my peers (not to mention celebrities), and checking out what the latest fashion bloggers have to say, as they help provide me with new ideas that I can translate into my own wardrobe. I find that I am constantly changing the way I dress to fit my mood on a specific day, whether it be comfy chic, slightly "hipster", preppy, or even a mixture. I'm all about adding dimension and functionality, while still remaining true to who I am! |

Year: IV Where do you purchase your clothes? I like to get most of my clothes from thrifts stores. The shirt and the blouse are both from thrift stores in Montreal, and the belt and the earings are from stores in the Hamilton area. The jeans are from Urban Outfitters, and the boots are from Aldo. What are inspirations for your looks? I always find this question really difficult! Most of the time, I'm just inspired by the interesting fabrics and patterns I dig up in vintage stores. I tend to take in what I see around me (on campus and around the city) and play with it, adding weird or bold vintage finds to something otherwise simple |

Name: John Peel Year: III How would you describe your style? I like my style to be clean, and visually interesting but not too ostentatious. I maintain that you can put on whatever clothes, but if you don't "wear" the outfit well then it's not a good look. To that end, I kind of stick to what I know. My looks boil down to basically jeans and a shirt, but I think what makes my style unique is my focus on making this traditional sort of aesthetic stand out. I'll often try to find conventional pieces with a bit of whimsy: sweaters with some cool texturing, ties with a stand-out feature (the tie I'm wearing, for example has a small crest midway down, so if I had taken off the sweater it would have given a bit of aesthetic interest), or jeans that aren't the conventional blue denim. I wear a lot of grey jeans, and I really like these royal blue jeans... When piecing my outfits together, I'll often try to keep the colour palette simple, too. Greys, blues, whites, and blacks all work well together, and I'll usually just play around with those combos. Usually, I'll try to pair the shoes with something about the top. What are inspirations for your looks? wore a uniform for high school, so I got used to wearing dress shirts and making sweater-tie pairings. Now there's a bit more freedom, so I tend to go with things that are a bit more comfortable these day. However, I still think it's important to put some effort into appearance and grooming out of respect for those you are seeing, so I keep a bit of a formal - or preppy - twist as much as I can. GQ magazing has some interesting pointers, but not all of it's for me. I try not to change my style around too much. Fads won't last, but style does (as cliche as that is, it's true). I guess I also take some inspiration from those classic looks of the 50's. Much of that archetypal style was simple, not ostensibly branded, but well fitting clothing. I try to go for some of the same with my clothes... Keep it all simple. Stick to what you know. Elevate classic style with a whimsical spin. |
